This class is designed to help beginner and intermediate painters build a strong foundation in watercolor while enjoying a peaceful and creative social environment. Participants will explore color mixing and theoryl, earn essential watercolor techniques, and learn about sketching compositions prior to painting. The class will cover stretching paper, as well as the use of various brushes and supplies to create pieces tailored to each artist’s unique style.
The goal of the class is to have each artist feeling comfortable enough with their materials and skills that they can apply what they have learned on their own without fear to create an individualistic composition reflecting their own style.

Purple Zinnia Art Shop
Purple Zinnia Art Shop is a combination of my love of connecting with others and my love of simply being creative. As a freelance artist focusing on Fine Art, Photography, and Graphic Design for over 25 years, I offer workshops and classes in the community thru different venues. I got my start teaching by volunteering at my children’s YMCA preschool and have now been leading my own classes for over seven years. Unique handcrafted items are also currently sold at Organnon’s Natural Market in Newtown, Pennsylvania and at various markets and shows. I also create one-of-a-kind masterpieces upon request for businesses and special events. Check out my gallery of work!
My love of color and expression extends to my life in the garden. I care extensively about not just the look of my garden, but also its effect on the environment. I garden specifically to attract pollinators, focusing on native plants to support local organisms, and have my yard certified by National Wildlife Federation. As well, I have been part of a local gardening & environmental group that focuses on promoting conservation in the community.
Many of my photographs and watercolors come straight from subjects living and growing in my own yard. While I am constantly digging in the dirt, transplanting, adding, and moving plants, it is my creativity that inspires the flowing, whimsical color scheme and design in my garden.
I currently reside and work in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
